National Wellbeing Silver Award
Market Harborough C of E Academy is proud to announce that we have been awarded the National Wellbeing SILVER Award in recognition of our commitment to the Raising Attainment with Wellbeing Programme: Putting wellbeing at the heart of learning, teaching and leadership.
This prestigious award acknowledges the significant steps our school has taken to embed wellbeing into every aspect of their community. As part of this achievement, we are delighted to have received the Wellbeing Pioneer Badge and Silver moniker, which reflect their dedication to creating a nurturing and supportive environment for pupils and staff alike.
Our approach to wellbeing has informed key areas of school policy and practice, including:
- A proactive and compassionate attendance strategy.
- A restorative approach to behaviour management.
- The establishment of Wellbeing Ambassadors in Key Stage 2 who lead mental health awareness and wellbeing initiatives.
- A dedicated Wellbeing Lead championing staff wellbeing and integrating wellbeing into performance management targets.
- Stronger partnerships with external professionals to support children with complex needs.
We are also embedding growth mindset principles and mindfulness sessions into the curriculum, whilst beginning to engage parents through workshops and newsletters to strengthen the link between wellbeing and learning.
Our co-Headteachers Emma Tayler and Heather White shared their thoughts on this achievement: "We are thrilled to receive the National Wellbeing SILVER Award. This achievement reflects the incredible dedication of our staff, pupils, and families to placing wellbeing at the heart of everything we do. A special thank you to Laura Stuckey and Emily Harris for their outstanding work in securing this award. At Market Harborough C of E Academy, we believe that happy, healthy children learn best—children who are truly known and cared for by our staff. This recognition celebrates our commitment to creating a nurturing and supportive environment for all.”
This award, valid until November 2028, is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the entire school community. We are looking forward to continuing this journey and ensuring that wellbeing remains at the heart of everything they do.
Congratulations to all staff, pupils, and families for making this achievement possible!
