Market Harborough C of E Academy made a big splash by winning the Inter-School Primary Swimming Gala for the third consecutive year, held at the end of 2025 in Market Harborough Leisure Centre.
The event, hosted by Robert Smyth Academy, brought together six local schools for an exciting day of competition in the pool.
The gala featured a range of races, including front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke, and a thrilling relay finale. Representing Market Harborough C of E Academy, 32 talented pupils competed—eight each from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 swimmers boys and girls.
Our hard work paid off spectacularly:
- 18 First-Place Finishes
- 6 Second-Place Finishes
- 5 Third-Place Finishes
This outstanding performance secured Market Harborough C of E the overall victory in the gala. for the third consecutive year.
The success is a testament to the dedication of our swim team, led by Mrs Adams, who is a qualified swim instructor and runs weekly swimming lessons for pupils. Her commitment ensures every child can confidently swim the national curriculum standard of 25 meters before moving on to secondary school.
"We’re incredibly proud of our pupils’ achievements," said Paula. "Their determination and teamwork really shone through, and it’s wonderful to see their skills celebrated in such a positive way."
We extend our thanks to Robert Smyth Academy for organising the event and to Market Harborough Leisure Centre for hosting this fantastic day of sport.
