Sponsoring with EveryChild
Our school sponsors a 6 year old little boy who lives in Malawi in Africa. He likes playing hide and seek and watching birds. He is enjoying nursery school and wants to be a doctor when he is older.
Our sponsored child lives with his parents and his brother in a 3 roomed house with mudbrick walls and a grass roof. His mum grows vegetables to sell and his dad is a farmer, but they still struggle to make ends meet.
That's how we can help!
We have a collection rota so that each year group can bring in spare change each term. The money then goes to the charity, EveryChild, which looks after sponsored children and their families. Such a little amount of money from us can make a really big difference.
At the end of this year we have collected £355 altogether! Wow!
A very big thank you to everyone.
Kiran Gupta's visit from EveryChild (December 2010)
On Wednesday 15th December, Kiran Gupta came to visit our school. Kiran works for the charity, EveryChild, which works to support some of the world’s most vulnerable children.
Our school sponsors a little boy who lives in Malawi. Kiran spent the day in school talking to each year group about our sponsored child and how the money we collect in school is used to improve his life.
The School Council met with Kiran and discussed with her ideas for fundraising. We will be re launching our collection of money in the New Year – look out for a letter from the School Council.
