The School Day
Children are welcome to come onto the school site unaccompanied from 8.45am when a member of school staff will be on duty. Before that time, children must be accompanied by and supervised by an adult, for health and safety reasons. Similarly, at the end of the school day children are welcome to stay and play for a short time but they must be accompanied by and supervised by an adult. School staff are not on duty at the end of the day, and unaccompanied children must leave the site straight after school.

There are three options available to your child at lunchtime. They may have a hot school dinner, bring a packed lunch or go home, or any combination of these three, during the course of a week.
The Cook Supervisor and her team cook meals on the school premises. A choice menu is available, and children can order meals on a day-to-day basis. There is always a vegetarian option. Payment must be made on a Monday to cover the cost of the required meals for the week. Cheques for meals should be made payable to Leicestershire County Council. All payments should be sent in an envelope clearly showing your child’s name, class and the amount being sent.
Details for children eligible for Free School Meals are available from the office, all enquiries will be treated in confidence. All children in the Foundation Stage and KS1 are entitled to Universal Free School Meals, but if you are in receipt of any of the benefits listed, please register for (Pupil Premium) Free School Meals as well: registration attracts additional PP funding into school which will be used to support your child and to subsidise any school trips or clubs they would like to attend.
Children may also bring a packed lunch to school, but this should not contain glass bottles or cans. As a Healthy School, we discourage children from bringing sweets and chocolate as part of their packed lunch, and because we have several children with severe nut allergy we do ask parents not to send nuts or products containing nuts, e.g. peanut butter, into school.
Children who go home for lunch should return to school at 1:10pm.
Our Midday Supervisors are on duty at lunchtime and the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher or member of SLT is always available.
