Needlework Club

We are an after school club that meets in the Art Room on Tuesday afternoons.

Our very first project with Years 5 and 6 was to make some items for the school Christmas fair, held in December 2010. We managed to make over a dozen Christmas stockings and fifty felt Christmas tree decorations. Our work was sold on the Secret Gift stall and contributed to the £150 raised by the stall. As you can see from the photograph we did really well to make so many lovely, colourful items.

At the end of the term we had a go at knitting. We ditched the traditional needles, went for a pair of old wicket stumps and borrowed a ball of string. Anybody want a huge fishing net?

Our plans for the spring term with Years 3 and 4 include helping out with making bunting for the Fairtrade record attempt.

If you have spare needlework/fabric items that you would like to donate to the group please leave at the office. If you would like to come and help with the group you are welcome to come along.
