Childrens Work: Year 5

In Y5 in the Autumn term we study Ancient Greece as our main topic. We cookeand taste Greek recipes, we learntGreek Dances, we make Greek temples, we write and act Greek plays as well as writing myths using our own imaginary mythical creatures. We also make Greek masks and study mountains, because Greece is a mountainous country.

In the Spring term we study a village in India. We write non-chronological reports in Literacy; we design our own Indian fabrics linking this with ICT. We cook and taste Indian recipes and  learn Indian dances.

In the Summer term we are studying Britain since 1948. We will be approaching this in a similar way. Studying great events and producing group collages to represent these. Looking at music throughout these decades, along with fashions and the way that people's lives have changed.
